WHY DO I CREATE, WRITE, AND SHARE CONTENT
Over time, I’ve made it a habit to reflect on various aspects of my life—my schedule, work, productivity, and how I’m using the time God has given me. Naturally, this includes evaluating my presence on social media, too. So why do I create, design, write, and post on @FriendlyCalvinist? I’d love to share the personal goals and hopes behind it all!

Naturally, this includes evaluating my presence on social media, too. So why do I create, design, write, and post on @FriendlyCalvinist? I’d love to share the personal goals and hopes behind it all!
I want to be absolutely clear that I’m not trying to speak on behalf of my fellow Calvinists/Reformed or assume we all have the same goals. While it’s possible we might share similar goals, I fully respect each individual's reasons for what they post. If they’re writing for other purposes, that’s perfectly fine with me; And just to be clear— this is HUGE!!—I’m not speaking for anyone but myself. Now that we’ve got that out of the way (no need to sign any terms or accidentally torch your house with a new iPhone), let’s roll out with the reasons.
I. First, I write to help me crystallize my understanding of Scripture so that I will know Christ and His Word better. I pray that this blog page points you to study His Word to know, love, worship, and treasure the Triune God more. His Word is worthy of our time. The Spirit directs, informs, and trains us with it. Christ is the head of His church and His Word has full authority. His Word should influence our worldview, actions, love, time, and perspective.
"I pray, that you will be challenged to think biblically."
II. Second, my desire is to help others to apply God's truth to every aspect of life for His glory and our enjoyment of Him. Everything is been intentionally written with a simple language, so that anyone would easily understand, and be directed back to God's Word; having in mind those who are seeking for answers, and trying to grasp biblical truth, just as the same way I did some years ago.
"I pray this blog page points you back to Christ and your local church."
The last thing I would ever want is for someone, to consider this page, or any Biblical pages as your primary means of spiritual feeding or to think that any of us (Men) behind the Biblical IG accounts as a pastor or leader.
Also, I pray that we never get deceived into thinking that social media platforms as "our church" (that's crazy!). As much as I love those I’ve met on Instagram and other social media platforms, they are not my congregation or my church (truth be told). Yes, we are a part of the body of Christ, but when it comes to Church, serving, loving, and unifying with someone, those commands are primarily directed to me and my local church. The same goes for you, if you have been called into God’s kingdom, you have been given a gift to serve in your local Church (Eph. 4:7-16). Therefore, I pray this blog page encourages your relationship with your local church.
Of course, I see value in listening and growing in knowledge from literature, blogs, and even all the sound sermons from Pastors we love. But I would pray those never take precedence over the local church ministry. Your pastor’s sermons are preached with you, specifically, in mind. Your Pastor is called to “shepherd the flock of God among you” (1 Peter 5:2). He prays for you by name. You, your elders, and your church will stand before the Lord giving an account of how each of you ministered to each other.
"I pray this blog page strengthens those relationships encouraging you to respect and work with your local church and leaders."
III. I hope this IG page encourages you to stay faithful to the local church. For those who are not in a local church, I pray this page will encourage you to get involved and be faithful in the local church. I would hope this page helps your elders and your fellowship. Approach them and tell them you want to get to know them. Go to them and ask how you can serve the church. Invite them over for dinner, coffee, or tacos (be creative). If the only thing you can make is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then great!! It’s not about the food, but the fellowship!
In summary, I see this blog page role as a secondary means to strengthen you as you walk with Christ. The primary means of growth and maturity is always believers serving their local church (Hebrews 5:14; 6:9-12).
"I pray this IG page strengthens you to serve, love, pray for, and be involved with your local church."
I’m thankful for the other brothers and sisters on social media platforms. Their posts, blogs, and podcasts do exactly what I hope and pray mine intends to do. I’m thankful for their commitment and I know Christ's Body is stronger because of their work and dedication. Press on Brothers and Sisters! Press on!
"And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." - John 17:3
Soli Deo Gloria!
